A rare Christopher Ross belt buckle, dated 1985. Its striking owl’s face is in Ross’ typical naturalistic animal style. 24K gold plated face is dimensional, and has a detailed feather texture. The eyes set this piece apart, though! Inset glass domes, with yellow irises have a haunting quality as they follow you any way the owl turns! Back is signed and dated, with a finger print underneath signature. Typical hardware on back to connect buckle to a leather belt.
In very good condition. Brackets holding eyes on are missing on one eye. There’s some dried glue around eyes as well. None of this is visible when buckle is worn, however, and eyes are securely held in with glue.
