A very special "poodle" skirt in a style similar to Juli Lynne Charlot's pieces (possibly one of hers w/o label?). Made of a sturdy charcoal gray felt that has body, but is quite soft. Doesn't seem to be wool, possibly a blend? Gold colored felt appliques are in an African safari motif, with animals, plant life, a hut and decorative spears. The work is done skillfully, and has a sweet, charming quality. Details are rendered with embroidery, including some metallic bits. Most of the critters have rhinestone eyes, and they're also used to accent a pair of cherries on the right side of skirt. Back of skirt is plain, with no decoration. Waistband is 1.5" wide. Closes on side with a metal "Lance" zipper and a large, hidden hook.
In very good condition. Appliqués are perfect. There is some light pilling throughout gray felt, and an area on l/f waistband that has some hand stitches done to mend or reinforce the area. Please note that felting process includes odd bits of thread and specks etc. that aren't flaws, just the nature of the fabric.
